Opus 888

Here is a typewriter I bought yesterday for $2.00 at a garage sale. I Have to get some ink ribbon for it, but otherwise it works perfectly! I love the light blue color, the clanking of the keys, and the bell that rings at the end of the line. I remember my brother and I used to “make newspapers” on an old typewriter. They’re simply charming machines, I think everyone should own one! By the way, check out this blog devoted to typewriters called Strikethu, and this waffle maker.

This was my Jr. High…(11 years later)

My Grandma went to high school here in the 50’s, my mom went to Jr. High here in the 70’s, and I was there in the late 90’s. Sadly, this gorgeous old building is being “retired” to the general public. This week I had the opportunity to attend a farewell open house, to capture a rare an unforeseen chance to go back and reminess. Coming back to this after 11 years was a little weird…felt like nothing, and everything, had changed. Such nostalgia…I’m always a sucker for it.
