I was on Model Mayhem tonight and and saw this girl Ivana, from Croatia. Is this my twin? Wow, how creepy-cool!

I think their work is truly inspiring! As a fan of all that is ostentatiously kitsch and fabulous, I am intrigued by their elaborate designs and use of quirky mismatched prints.

New Item: Floral Cape Coat

Hopefully soon my boyfriend will create a “shop” section for the website, but for now, here is a preview of a floral cape/coat I made.

Painted Love Lipstick

Yesterday at Sephora I was looking for a new classic and sophisticated red lipstick. After trying on several, I decided my favorite was one called ”Underage Red” from a line called “Painted Love”. Then, to my horror, I realized the line was designed by a reality star (Kat Von D). I don’t know anything about her or her show (so no offense) but it is a pet peeve of mine when “stars” design fashion and beauty products. Cheesy! But alas, it doesn’t matter to me what the brand is, just if I like the product or don’t like it ,so I ended up getting it. It’s really quite lovely and long lasting!

The Cheap Date Guide To Style

Today I picked up the book The Cheap Date Guide To Style by Kira Jolliffe & Bay Garnett. The cover caught my eye...a simple photograph of a girl making a pose in a no-name vintage dress and lace up oxford shoes. This is not the type of style guide to tell you to wear a LBD and pearls, it’s for those of us who appreciate style without rules. There are quotes about style, candid photographs, pictures of thrift finds, and interviews with icons like Chloe Sevingny, etc. This may just be a perfect Christmas gift to ask for or to give this year.
