Running “Barefoot” in the Rain

Every Thursday at 6:30 pm, the running store Second Sole hosts a group run which is free for anyone who wants to show up and run 3 miles (or more, in some cases). You can find out more information on their facebook page. Last night was especially enjoyable because the temperature dropped from 90 to 76 with a refreshing heavy rain pouring down on us. On top of that, I was running in my new “Bikila"s by Vibram Five Finger, so I felt as if I was running barefoot in the rain. Now that is a great feeling! By the way, I love the Bikila’s! They may be rather weird looking, but I prefer them for running to my traditional athletic shoes any day.

All mine now!

I am very excited! Today I paid off the loan for my pink VW Beetle, a year early! I hate parting with the money I had been saving up, but it’s nice to have that debt out of the way! I have not always been big into cars, but I can honestly say this car is a complete JOY to own. Every day it makes me smile!

Ballerina

I came across this beautiful portrait by Jean-Frederic Schall on the lovely 18th Century Blog , a must see if you love fashion from that era. I love this painting in particular because she looks so fun loving and not stuffy like some of the other portraits from that time. Apparently the lady in this painting was a ballerina in Paris.
