A fan of fans?
It’s a shame this accessory has sort of “fanned” out (horrible pun intended). One place it has not is at the Fan Museum in London (who knew?). I think these should come back in a big way…it would be fan-tastically fancy!

The photos are from here!

N.E.E.T. Magazine—Lullie Vintage story
If you are not aware of N.E.E.T. magazine by now, you have been missing out! It is an online magazine showing nothing but grassroots creativity of handmade clothing and crafts, vintage, and other cool unique things. The current issue had the most beautiful spread on ebay vintage dealer Lullie Vintage. I ADORE these colors and the fact these are all vintage clothes!

Michael Alan’s Art
Michael Alan’s current art is of “creatures that are caught in the past, present and the future surviving in a alternate reality”. I love his use of colors and the way these images look both loose and tightly detailed at the same time. Michael also is responsible for regularly creating a draw-a-thon for his fellow artists who want to be inspired beyond the limits of classroom style anatomy drawing. In his own words, “Collaborating with a group of performers, artists, musicians, and art models, we re-cast the traditional practice of figure drawing by adding context and energy by incorporating hand made props, narrative, improve, performance and musical components.“ For more information about this artist check out his website!

Stockings and Slips
Two things I am into at the moment… stockings because they add personality to any old outfit (I really like stockngirl and their legwear blog).. and slips because they are pretty to louge around in when it’s hot out (plus, I guess you can wear them under dresses which I should do but don’t. lol)

Cheap Thrills
So the other day I saw this street style post on fashionista.com about this cute delias jumper which I happened to run into yesterday for $14.00! You can’t beat that! Plus I got two strapless smocked dresses (the teal one was only $15.80 and the floral one $22.80!) from Forever 21.

Strawberry Kitten + New Illustrations
I was on Flickr this morning and came upon this fantastic photo blog by a poster known as Strawberry Kitten. I love how she looks and dresses kind of like some of my fashion drawings! It’s so inspiring and neat that we live in an age where you can be an everyday citizen and become a fashion icon by posting your own “look book” online. Cheers to Strawberry Kitten, you are fabulous!

Also, I did two new drawings in bright outfits!

Nathalie Lete’s Art
Nathalie Lete is an artist in Paris who makes a diverse rage of creative expressions through collage, ceramics, illustration, and textiles. I like it that she doesn’t limit herself by sticking to one medium, she really ventures into everything. Check out her website or her work ( adorable plates!) sold at Anthropologie.

In the Swim

What guilt a fashionista feels, when there are so many colorful printed bikinis in the world and she only wears Speedo tank suits! 18 combined years of competitive swimming and lifeguarding left me craving what I couldn’t have, and now I have more than I really need. But one thing is for sure, a pretty swim suit + retro sunglasses + a drink + a Nylon magazine, by the poolside will make you a happy gal!

Dhani Harrison and thenewno2
A few days ago the Nylon Magazine newsletter sent this video about a guy I had forgotton about but always found incrediably handsome, Dhani Harrison (and is it any wonder? He is the son of George Harrison who is like the sexiest man ever!). According to wikipedia, “Dhani pursued a career as an aerodynamicist. However, this career turned out not to suit him as well as he had hoped” so instead he has become a professional musician and started his own band thenewno2 that you can listen to on his myspace page. ( I am especially fond of “Another John Doe” and “Lord Lord”). I am sure it would be difficult to be the son of a Beatle, always being compared, so this is why I will not point out how much he looks and sounds like George. Oh wait..

And while I am on this topic, my favorite songs sung by George are “For you Blue”, “It’s all too much”, “Something”, and “Old Brown Shoe”!
