Oddities and Things in my room Part 1
A little sample of some of the creative chaos on my shelves.

Styrofoam head, wearing a faux fur stole, and the floppy black hat I wore this past winter. She looks to be crying, but it was paint that dripped from her eye by mistake.

This is a light box/ lamp…my dad and I have made these at least three times in my life that I can remember. Basically he would build the box and make the lighting and switch work, and I would paint them. I never finished this one but it was the weirdest thing…I came up with this design and then the following spring, Marc Jacobs (and I think it was a collaboration with graphic artist Geoff McFetridge?) had a similar print on the runway with the mouths and everything. I’ve heard that sometimes artists and designers have a collective creative conscious of some sort, where they all sense similar ideas. Sort of the idea behind trend forecasting I suppose. Not sure if that is true, or if I’m even in on it, but there have been a few eerie coincidences throughout time.

What we have here: a photo of me and my brother, ages 7 and 4, playing in the leaves, an awesome piece of collage art that an ebay seller gave as an unexpected surprise in the box that came with shoes I bought, and a handmade birthday card from one of my best friends.

Nylon magazines starting from 2003, I reference them weekly for inspiration!
