The Alchemist’s Daughter by Katherine McMahon
Last night I finished reading The Alchemist’s Daughter, a novel by Katherine McMahon. Even though this story takes place during the early 18th century in London, the problems are the similar to that which we encounter today...girl on a fast track to success....girl meets “handsome-but-bad-boy” and falls in love (ruins career)....girl is miserable and trys to make due with life....etc etc...(possibly finds true love?)… and unanswered questions in the end. All the meanwhile affairs are happening, people are revolting injustice, and feelings of love and hate are intense. I enjoyed reading it, and I actually learned some things about science and alchemy that I didn’t know before. It is not the best book I have ever read, but it was a decent and interesting book, at some points, hard to put down. The cover is pretty too!
