About

My Photo

At a young age I resolved to give myself up entirely to my passion for creating. My business ventures started when I received my first digital camera, for high school graduation. Soon after that I created Ninkybink.com featuring handbags and tees I created, and thanks to my wonderful and supportive customers, and to my Grandma who taught me how to sew, my dreams of operating my own fashion business came true!

However, being a college student and wanting to explore the fashion world, I took a long hiatus from Ninkybink in the pursuit of gaining experience. I lived in New York City twice, once in 2004 and again in 2007-08, to intern at Harper’s Bazaar, work as a freelance Fashion Assistant for companies such as J. Crew, and to assist stylists with projects and fashion shows. I have also been a Forever 21 Visual Merchandiser, and a Buying Assistant at a privately owned upscale boutique. I graduated in May 2007 with a bachelors degree in Apparel Merchandising and Product Development.

My theory is that life is so "daily", so I take what I enjoy the most and repeat it every single day. I love creating things, running each morning, listening to music, and finding inspirations. I thank the Lord every day for providing me with two wonderful and loving parents, a brother who shares my sense of humor, and a supportive and amazing boyfriend. My customers and supporters are deeply appreciated, thank you so much! I always love receiving notes and questions do feel free to contact me or add me on MySpace.

About The Fashion

Everything in the boutique, unless otherwise noted, is made entirely by me from design, to construction. I put love into every piece! Often I use details and fabrics that are irreplaceable so therefore the clothing is special, unique, and the only one in the world of its kind! I believe clothing should enhance, not mask, you personal charm and charisma. I try to find something artsy to add to each garment I create, because I like it when things are a bit quirky and cheerful.

I serge the seams for durability, but also often times add hand sewn details so it is recommended the items are gently hand washed.

About The Illustrations

I have a sense of humor when it comes to the dramatic pouty model looks and fanciful frivolousness of the fashion world. It’s no secret the industry portrays itself as a magical and glamorous parade of frothy little frocks, beautiful people, and stellar stilettos. While this is half true, like in any industry, fashion is work and there is a daily grind…a gap lies between the real and imagined. However the ladies in my drawings know not, of such a gap. For them, the fantasy is the reality! But if you look close enough, you will see the little twinkles in their heavily eyelined eyes that are saying “With all due respect darling, at the end of the day, it is just fashion!” Not that fashion isn't important! But first and foremost, it should be fun and lighthearted!

I am a self taught illustrator who grew up in a creative environment with my mother as a professional artist and my father encouraging of creativity. I am available for commission, collaborations, etc, and I am especially interested in illustrating for magazines and other media.
